Our Mission

Mama Tree Farms exists as a living legacy, a place where roots run deep across generations and where the love that began under our old fig tree continues to grow.

We exist to honour the land we live on, the mother who inspired it, and the families who now gather beneath its branches.

Here, calm and connection come first.

Children, animals, and parents share space safely and gently, learning from each other through nature, play, and presence. Our work blends psychology, child development, and co-regulation, not as theory but as lived experience beneath the open sky.

Mama Tree Farms is built on acceptance, kindness, and awareness, a place where every emotion is valid, every creature is respected, and every moment invites slowing down. We are growing a culture that looks out for one another, learns from the land, and remembers that real love, like real roots, intertwines quietly beneath the surface and holds strong through every season.

Where It All Began

It started with one wild little girl and one patient little pony.

I’m Amelia, a teacher, psychology student, and mum of two wild-hearted girls. An animal lover through and through, I never planned to start a farm like this. But then came Dundee. He wasn’t supposed to be mine... technically, he still isn’t. His story began back in 2008, when my late mama, after one too many wines, impulse-bought two ridiculous ponies off Horse Deals for my niece and nephew.

Eighteen years later, my own fearless daughter met Dundee. And something shifted. She softened. She slowed. She listened. Not because I told her to, but because that’s what he needed from her.

Watching them together, I saw what true connection looks like. Regulation, patience, and presence, all through the quiet wisdom of a pony. I wanted other children (and their parents) to feel that too.

What began as Remur Park Herd, under my mum’s old tree, has now grown into Mama Tree Farms: a place where calm ponies, muddy feet, and the magic of slow childhood meet.

Meet the Team

Small in size but mighty in wisdom, this Shetland knows exactly how to show up calm, kind, and quietly confident.

He adores going for slow, purposeful walks (especially if there's chatting involved) and has a soft spot for kids who move gently and speak kindly. Brushing, however? Not his love language unless there's a carrot involved.

The Calm in the Chaos

Ella is our big, black, breathtaking Fresian. She's equal parts horsepower and heart. She might look like a medieval war horse, but she is basically a Labrador in disguise. If she could sit in your lap, she would. You’ll often find her hanging by the fence hoping someone will notice her magnificent presence and maybe offer a carrot or a cuddle.

Kahlua may be tiny, but she brings main character energy wherever she goes. A Miniature x Shetland with a big personality, she’s equal parts sparkle, sass, and stubbornness.

She’s surprisingly excellent at standing tied and being brushed (as long as she’s admired appropriately), but walking? Meh. Only if the vibes are right.

Rosie is our youngest herd member. She's wide-eyed, wobbly, and full of curiosity. A Riding Pony foal, she’s still learning the ropes, but already shows a gentle, thoughtful spirit. You might spot her watching closely, practicing her pony manners, or trying to make friends through the fence.

Gentle Soul

Our feathered commentators who don’t miss a thing. With two proud roosters and six busy hens, this little flock is always scratching, clucking, and keeping tabs on the action.

Part farm crew, part comic relief, the chickens remind us to stay curious, peck at the details, and never leave snacks unattended.

Our sheep prefer to keep to themselves but never stray far from the pack. They bring a gentle rhythm to the farm, quietly grazing together and reminding us of the comfort that comes from community. You’ll often spot them moving as one; calm, steady, and always a little woolly.
